Ghassan Yared

Ghassan Yared

Professor Yared completed his endodontic training at University Paris VII (France) and obtained his M.Sc. from the Lebanese University (Lebanon). He has been extensively involved in teaching at the Lebanese University, Lebanon, and the University of Toronto, Canada. He has received several teaching awards at both universities. Professor Yared has published in peer-reviewed international endodontic journals. He has given numerous lectures and continuous education courses worldwide. Currently, he practises endodontics part-time on a benevolent basis. He is also a visiting professor at Saint Joseph University in Lebanon. Professor Yared is the inventor of single file endodontics and asymmetrical mechanical reciprocation, the basis of modern reciprocation. His research is currently focussed on root canal disinfection, pulpal anaesthesia and emergency treatment of pulpitis. He introduced a new concept for the management of root canals with a non-instrumentation technique. He also introduced an approach for the emergency management of teeth with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis without a pulpotomy or pulpectomy, and a novel approach for reproducible successful pulpal anaesthesia in mandibular molars presenting with asymptomatic irreversible pulpitis without the need of supplementary anaesthesia (intra-ligamentary, intra-osseous or intra-pulpal) after the access cavity is started.
