
Lars Bjørndal (born 1963). Professor in Cariology and Endodontic, Department of Odontology, Copenhagen University, Denmark. Graduated in 1988 from University of Copenhagen, Denmark. In 1992: Ph.D. thesis on the topic: Caries progression in enamel and the pulp-dentin organ using thin undemineralized tooth sections. In 2011: Dr. Odont. Thesis entitled: Endodontic treatment: reason, prevention and quality - shaping factors. From 1993-1998: Assistant professor at the Department of Cariology and Endodontics, University of Copenhagen. 1999-2001: Received specific postgraduate endodontic specialist courses in Malmö and Gothenburg, Sweden. Certified member of European Society of Endodontology from 2001. From 1998: Associate professor at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and Head of Endodontic since 2016. In 2012 he was visiting Scholar at Loma Linda University, US. From 2012-2015: Head of the Special Clinical University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Twice hosted the SES biennial congress in Denmark. Past President of the Danish National Endodontic Society. He has lectured worldwide covering the field of extensive caries pathology and subsequent treatment suggestions. LB has contributed with more than 125 international and national articles, including 20 book chapters and 1 textbook. Weekly he is in private practice devoted endodontic referrals.
