Peter Day qualified from Bristol, UK in 1997. He spent his early years in hospital dentistry, general dental practice, and oral and maxillofacial surgery. In 2000, he began his specialist and academic training in Paediatric Dentistry in Leeds. His PhD focused on dental trauma. Following this, he spent a six-month sabbatical at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne before taking up a joint academic appointment with the University of Leeds and Bradford Community Dental Service. He was promoted to Professor of Children’s Oral Health in 2020. Peter is the first author of the latest IADT primary dental trauma guideline and, as co-author, contributed to the writing of each of the 2020 IADT guidelines. He has published widely in the fields of dental trauma and tooth auto transplantation.
