Ildikó Márton

Professor Ildikó Márton graduated from the Medical University of Debrecen (now Clinial Center of the University of Debrecen) and obtained MD in 1978. She was resident at the Department of Stomatology of the University, and became a Licenced Dental Surgeon (LDS) in 1981. She obtained PhD in 1990 and became a Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (DSc) and full-professor in 2004. She was a visiting scientist at the University of Ulm, Germany, at the Temple University, Philadelphia, PA and the Wistar Institute of Anatomy and Biology, Philadelphia, PA, USA. She won the "Research Prize" of the ESE in 1989. She is Founder Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry and founder of the Doctoral School of Dental Sciences, University of Debrecen. She served as president of the Hungarian Dental Association and chairperson of the Hungarian National Board of Stomatology. From 1996 to 2021 she was Chairperson of the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics of the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Debrecen. Now she is visiting scientist at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Debrecen, Hungary. Her primary interests are inflammatory and neoplastic disases of the oral cavity. She published over 120 papers and three textbook chapters.
